Clayton receives Recreation Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities Grants
Deptford Township and Clayton have received Recreation Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities Grants, the only two in Gloucester County to receive the grants along with 41 other municipalities in the state.
Deptford received $8,000 and Clayton received $4,500. ROID Grants provide funding assistance to local units of government for both short-term special events and comprehensive recreational services for individuals with disabilities. Funding is allocated through the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs Division of Housing and Community Resources.
The ROID program is meant to reinforce the status of persons with disabilities as complete members of the community; to promote the least restrictive environment in providing recreation and leisure service for persons with disabilities and to assist local governments in the commencement or expansion of recreation and leisure services for person with disabilities.
